Did you know?

Momo, the beloved dumplings of the Himalayas, are said to have originated in Tibet and traveled to Nepal, where they became a national favorite! Traditionally filled with yak meat, modern variations now include chicken, veggies, and even chocolate!

Pizza

The world’s first pizzeria, Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba, opened in Naples, Italy, in 1738! But pizza as we know it today became famous in 1889 when a Neapolitan chef created the Margherita pizza—topped with tomato, mozzarella, and basil—to honor Queen Margherita of Italy.

Samosa

In Nepal, samosas are known as “Singada” in many regions, especially in the Terai belt! While the classic potato-filled version is the most popular, Nepali samosas often come with a spicier kick and are served with a tangy chana (chickpea) curry or a fiery tomato chutney.
